Where does conflict come from? It comes from aggression. If people did not try to get the better of others, but tried to compromise instead, no conflicts would exist.

是非从哪里来？ 是非从争强好胜中来，如果你不争强不好胜，甚至你还会学一点吃亏，是非就迎刃而解，是非到你这里就没了，化解掉了。所以古人说，来说是非者，即是是非人。你若是一个学会吃亏的人，你不反弹它，你就没有是非了。

Moreover, one needs to be a bit silly in some situations. Why is this? Arent we Buddhists supposed to be wise? Here, being silly stands for the virtue of being kind. For Buddhists, wisdom denotes our inherent Buddha-nature. It does not mean one becomes good at playing tricks, being calculating or unwilling to make the smallest of sacrifices, nor does it mean that one will never yield a single step. Being kind and a bit silly is an invaluable virtue.

吃些亏还要带三分呆， 我们不是说学佛要开智慧，为什么还要学呆呢？ 这是做人的一种品德厚道。 开智慧不是让你变得阴谋诡计，也不是让你变得好像是寸步不让，也不是让你变得斤斤计较，开要开内在的佛性智慧， 但做人要厚道，有时候带三分呆，这个是最难得了。
